The American Association of Orthodontists
recommends that the initial evaluation should occur
at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later
than age 7. Starting a tretament early will produce optimal
results and significantly reduce the amount of time
and expense. Usually, at age 7, the first adult molars emerge, defining the back bite. This is when your orthodontic can examine and evaluate tooth alignment and
diagnose possible problems.
Remember, early detection and proper care prevents
future serious problems.
An adequate orthontic treatment can produce great
results at any age, but it is important to get timely evaluation and if necessary, treatment. |
